Addition Of HVAC Chill Hill Tube Slide Gives Visitors Even More To Look Forward To During AutoTrader.com Speedway In Lights
Visitors to Bristol Motor Speedway know they will see plenty of action on the high-banked half-mile oval during NASCAR races. Now, they can participate in some action of a different kind, on another type of banking, just outside the Speedway itself.
As part of this year's Autotrader.com Speedway In Lights Powered by TVA holiday show, the HVAC Chill Hill Tube Slide will open Nov. 10, giving BMS guests even more to do during a fun outing at BMS.
Chill Hill features a 300-foot long snowless slide, with two side-by-side lanes, offering riders the opportunity to have loads of fun, while engaging in a bit of competition if they choose. Patrons will glide, skid or race to the bottom on inflated tubes.
HVAC President Edd Hill is excited about being part of the newest attraction at BMS, which will benefit Speedway Children's Charities.
"We at HVAC are pleased to partner with BMS and Speedway Children's Charities on this great outdoor activity," he said. "I think Chill Hill will prove to be a big hit with the community. This is a great, wholesome activity that younger children, teens, and adults can enjoy with their families and friends.
"This is just another example of how BMS gives back to this region. The best thing about it is that all of the money from the tube slide will go to the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities."
Claudia Byrd, director of the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities, is thrilled with the addition of Chill Hill, as well as the partnership with HVAC.
"I cannot thank Edd Hill and the folks at HVAC enough for coming on board to sponsor our newest addition to Autotrader.com Speedway In Lights and the Johnson Controls Ice Rink," she said. "The tube slide will offer our visitors yet another way to enjoy the entire experience while they're here at BMS. It's just going to make an already fantastic event even more spectacular."
Chill Hill is located adjacent to the Johnson Controls Ice Rink. Cost is $7 per person for a 50 minute session. Anyone wishing to take part in the tube slide must be at least 48" tall to ride alone. Children also can ride with someone 16 or older if they are at least 36" tall.

The slide's hours will be altered during the holidays, beginning on Thanksgiving Day when it will be open from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. Other special scheduling hours are as follows: Nov. 27-28 (2 p.m.-11 p.m.), Dec. 21-23 (2 p.m.-10 p.m.) Dec. 24 (4 p.m.-10 p.m.), Dec. 26 (2 p.m.-11 p.m.), Dec. 28-30 (2 p.m.-10 p.m.), Dec. 31 (2 p.m.-11 p.m.), Jan. 1 (2 p.m.-10 p.m.) and Jan. 8 (4 p.m.-10 p.m.)

Funds from the foundation directly aid children in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. To date, Speedway Children's Charities has raised well in excess of $4.5 million for area agencies.
