Breaking fundraising records has become the norm for the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, accomplishing that remarkable feat once again as $712,000 was awarded to area children’s agencies tonight during the annual Night of Smiles event at Bristol Motor Speedway.

With another successful race season complete at Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway, preparation for the 16^th edition of Speedway In Lights has begun.

The green flag drops Nov. 16 on Speedway In Lights, the South’s largest holiday light show. With millions of glowing lights and hundreds of brilliant displays positioned all around the World’s Fastest Half-Mile and throughout Thunder Valley, it has long been a must-see event that continues to grow in popularity each year.

An array of exotic cars available for your viewing pleasure. On September 29, the day will begin with a car show view exotic favorites from all over the country. The evening will conclude with a dinner and auction. The event will happen at the former “Grindstaff” castle and hosted by new home owner Wayne Thacker. Thacker wanted to do something with the property that would benefit the community and children. Speedway Children’s Charities will benefit from the event. Bacon, or as it is more commonly referred to: “meat candy”, is becoming a cultural phenomenon.  So why not host a Bacon Festival to celebrate the love of this iconic food?  Well, that’s just what the owners of Positive Approach Events in Johnson City, Tennessee have decided to do on September 1, 2012.

For most competitors at Bristol Motor Speedway, a road racing background is not necessary to help them make their mark at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile. Legal Aid of East Tennessee and the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities are going to change things up on Sunday, May 6 with an event designed to keep drivers turning left and right, while benefitting both charities at the same time.

The East Tennessee Sports Car Club of America will host a Solo autocross event on a challenging course in the parking lots of BMS. Solo events test the skill of each participant by emphasizing the driver’s ability and the car’s handling characteristics.

It is the ultimate dream for any race fan... riding around Bristol Motor Speedway with a NASCAR superstar during pre-race ceremonies at one of racing's biggest events. Now, that dream can be a reality thanks to the Ride of a Lifetime auction.

Race fans can bid for the opportunity to hop aboard one of the Ford pre-race vehicles with their favorite Sprint Cup Series racer prior to the March 18 Food City 500. The winning bidders will make a lap around the "World's Fastest Half-Mile" with their selected competitor during driver introductions.

Saturday, Jan. 7, however, that is the case as the season finale of Speedway In Lights features a magnificent fireworks display capping off the 15^th year of one of the country’s largest holiday light shows.
