Bristol Area Grant Application Process and Eligibility

Speedway Children's Charities is an organization dedicated to helping children. We operate as a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) organization, and produce and coordinate various events throughout the year to raise funds to distribute to worthy children's organizations.

It is our desire to meet the medical, educational, and social needs of all children. You are eligible to apply for funding from Speedway Children's Charities if you are an existing 501(c)(3) non-profit charity whose primary focus is children. We serve the counties of Carter, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington in Tennessee and Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington and Wise in Virginia.

The 2016 SCC-Bristol grant is due by August 1st, 2016

The Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the Jeff Byrd Grant which has been established in honor of the former Bristol Motor Speedway President and General Manager. "Jeff was a very special man who loved children and lived by a very simple yet world-changing mantra: To whom much is given much is required. Speedway Children's Charities wishes to honor Mr. Byrd by acting on those words and giving a substantial gift to an agency who will pay it forward to the children they serve."

This $50,000 grant will be given to one organization each year. The grant will still be awarded to a non-profit children’s organization in the 18-county area surrounding Bristol Motor Speedway. Unlike the regular SCC Grants, the Jeff Byrd Grant allows agencies to apply for funding which will aid with capital expenditures and vehicles if needed. Please view the below packet and application for more information about eligible programs.

The Jeff Byrd Grant is due to be postmarked by September 15th, 2016. At any time, please feel free to call the Speedway Children’s Charities office at (423) 989-6975.

This grant application must be filled out in addition to the original Speedway Children’s Charities Grant Application for 2016 which is due to be postmarked by August 1st.

Please note, the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race is the week of August 15th-20th. We will not be available to answer questions during that week. We encourage you to plan ahead and contact us as soon as possible.
